Wasatch State Park Fishing

For fall break Jared took Friday off and we were able to spend the day enjoying the weather and fishing.  I love the Wasatch State Park for fishing with little boys.  They stoke the pond, so it is relatively easy to catch fish, but best of all it is a beautiful place to spend time, and watch your boys fish, so I can enjoy myself as well. :)

I love that this place allows my boys to be boys, boys who enjoy playing with rocks, sticks, mud, bugs, weeds, etc. not video games, tv, toys, or computer games.

The following week we decided to go fishing again, but this time we brought, Tim, McKell and Bella, Brosnahan as well as our two dogs, Pete and Annabelle.  It was a lot of fun having extra friends with us. :)  I think for the most part the dogs had fun too, although I don't think they were very happy when I put them in the water, or when Bella for some reason bit Annabelle.

It was fun to see Jared and Tim, two good friends fishing together with their dogs. :)
When Jared and Tim were fishing I took the boys and McKell for a little exploring.  They were pretending to be animals camouflaged in the weeds, McKell did a really good job at it. :)  Can you find her. :)

Fall is for Exploring the Provo River, Over and Over Again

I LOVE WHERE I LIVE!!!!!  Utah at this time of the year is beautiful, and being in Heber, so close to so many beautiful places makes it even better.  I am also so very grateful for good friends who make it so easy and so fun to get out.  So far we have only been on three walks, but with a little luck we will go on many more.  Now be prepared for a picture overload, but how could I choose my favorites when there are so many beautiful, darling pictures?
Love these four boys, Brandon, Jason, Grant and Tyler - best buddies!!

Could Grant and Brandon be any more adorable, nope I didn't think so - Love these smiles!!

I love that my boys get to be boys; sticks, water, rocks, and dirt, and they could be entertained for hours. :)

The next walk included a few more boys and only two girls. :)  Could they have any more fun?

 Yeah for good friends!!
OK, this pictures completely cracks me up.  Brandon really loves Rachel, and her mom told me that while they were reading in the Book of Mormon the word divorcement came up and the kids were wondering what the word divorcement meant, the discussion moved on to divorce and how when you get a divorce often your last name changes.  So Rachel piped in and said, well when I get older, my last name is going to be Bowman. :)  So the feelings are mutual.  This picture looks just like an engagement picture, except that they are both six and they are both missing their front two teeth. :)  too funny!

I love boys, so excited to have three of them soon. :)

Rachel found a caterpillar, so we took it home made a cozy place in a jar for it to live and she got to take it back to her house after our play date. :)

More September Fun

It was one of those days when my boys were playing so well with each other, getting along, sharing, not making too many big messes, and then it got extra quiet and I wondered where they were and what they were doing, or getting into.  Turns out they were not "into" anything, no they were "on top" on the car, looking out at the world with the binoculars.  I know I should have been super mad about them playing in the garage, in the car, and on top of the car, those are all big no-no's but it was just so cute to see them spying on the world like that.  :)

One of the first play dates with Rachel, who, like Brandon, also has a three year old brother, named Jared.  It is part of what makes their play dates so fun, all four of them get to be together.
And yet another play date with Rachel and Jared, this time at our house.
On Labor Day Weekend Wyn and Dee Ann drove their motor home for one last visit before they turned it over to be sold.  :(  I admit was not the biggest fan of the motor home in my yard, but I will greatly miss the fun memories that my boys made while having sleep overs in the motor home.  They were always so thrilled when Grandma and Grandpa and the motor home came to visit, and I can't blame them, it was super cool and lots of fun, made even more fun by great grandparents!  We will miss the motor home!
While Wyn and Dee Ann were in town we decided for the first time to visit the sheep dog championship held in Midway.  I am glad we went.  It was fascinating to watch the sheep dogs heard the sheep, even if we only watched two.  It was also so fun to watch the Splash Dogs in action, in fact I think that was the highlight of our outing!
The petting zoo was also a hit for my animal loving boy.
And the milking station, and bean bag toss were so fun for both of my boys.

While we did have a lot of fun, it was very hot, and we got tired and weary quickly, not sure if this will be a tradition, but I am glad we went and know we now what it is all about.  :)
