I'm a wanna be

I really wish I was a great photographer! But alas I am not! I just don't have the patience to learn all of the technical aspects of photography, but I do love the artistic side of it. Here is my lame attempt at taking great pictures of Grant. I am actually pleased with how a few of them turned out. I am so grateful for digital cameras that allow me to take as many pictures as I want and not feel bad about it.My beautiful boy! I love his GQ pose here - so funny!I love his happy little face!I love this picture so much! I just wish I could get the lighting and the color right?Yummy hand. :)

Great Grandparents

I am so happy that my children have been able to meet five of their eight great-grandparents. Here are four of them with Grant - I love these pictures!Grandpa Bowman - 100 1/2 years old!Grandma BowmanGrandma Osborn (my paternal grandma) 90 1/2 years old.

Grandma Johnson (my maternal grandma) (not pictured is my Grandpa Johnson)

I sure do love these grandparents!!! I feel so lucky to have such a great relationship with each of them!

Fun Friends

Last weekend was so much fun!!! I was able to spend Friday night with a bunch of girls from my neighborhood eating yummy treats, enjoying great conversations, and best of all playing a very amusing dance game on the wii. I love these fun girls and I really hope we get together more often!.
Then on Saturday I had my ten year reunion, I opted out of the dinner but enjoyed the park outing with the families. It was so fun to see so many friends from high school and to see their families and how we have all grown up. This is another group that I wish I got together with more often.
I would be so happy if every weekend was spent enjoying the company of one group of friends or another. Friends are so important! I am so grateful that I have been blessed to have great friends in every stage of my life!!

ADVERSITY MAKES US STRONGER

Last year I had a couple of these pansies growing in a pot, they are not supposed to come back the next year, so imagine my surprise when this little guy poked through the stones on my patio. Not one flower came back in the pot with the rich soil and safe growing conditions but this little guy came back through stone, thus - adversity makes a stronger - so when challenges come your way today - remember the little flower that did. :)

Wonderful BIrthday Present

I am LOVING my birthday present, and so are my boys. I love having a hammock to relax in even if it is only once in a while. These boys are so super cute!!!!

Mission Impossible

Your mission should you choose to accept: Rescue the baby bird that you watched the wind blow out of the tree onto the ground.

Each year a pair of robins builds their nest in the tree in between Brandon and Grants windows. I love hearing them chirp in the early morning hours while I am feeding Grant and throughout the day while I am taking care of the boys. Well last night I had the blinds open while I was rocking Grant to sleep and I saw the baby bird blown out of the tree from the wind, then I watched as the helpless mother nudged her baby under the daisy bush for protection and then flew away. Of course I had to help it, so I recruited Jared (an eagle scout who knows how to handle these sort of things :)) to help. He was great to make sure the baby bird was safe and that he did not leave his scent on the bird so the mother would not reject it. Well the mission was a success, this morning I heard the baby bird chirping from its nest and saw the mother feeding it a worm, YEAH! I am so grateful for my hero Jared - helping and not thinking I am crazy. :)

The bird is the darker blob in the dirt - it really was so cute!

My Little Brother Graduated

I am so proud of Taylor for graduating high school - I know it was not an easy road, but he did it! HOORAY! It was so fun to be able to go to the graduation with my grandmas, parents, and Natalie and Scott. I was so happy that Grant was agreeable through the whole thing. YEAH TAYLOR!!!!

Farwell to the Cabin

We spent Memorial Day Weekend packing up our belongings and saying goodbye to our family cabin. I will miss this place terribly, but it was time for us all to move on. I am however very grateful for all of the wonderful memories from the cabin. This is after all where Jared proposed to me nearly 10 years ago. We have enjoyed four-wheeling, snow-mobiling, fishing, hiking, SLEEPING (my favorite thing to do there - its like a drug at the cabin:))and spending quality time with the family. I will miss this room LOTS! Brandon, Grant, Cooper, and Lexi were all great sports about us being so busy with packing, in fact I think they had a great time riding in the Jeep, going on walks, playing on the swing set, and playing in the kids room.I am happy that Jared was able to get in one more day of fishing and I was able to enjoy the peace and read one more book. I am also so happy that while the cabin is gone. The place where we got engaged will never be developed so we can still visit ofter, and the fishing and camping will still always be there for us to enjoy, I hope we still make the occasional trip to Island Park and West Yellowstone - it is a magical place!

Story Time

++

Brandon loves reading stories to Grant and doing pretty much anything with Grant. So cute!

The translation is:

"Go Dog Go

One little dog going up, one little dog going down

I squish Grant"

Bath Time

Love these cute boys!

Day Out With Thomas

Thomas the train came to Heber over Memorial Day Weekend - We of course had to go and see him. We went late Thursday night and Jared was just barely able to make it there in time - then he had to go back to work right after. I wish I would have known that the ride itself was only about 1/2 an hour long and very boring, I would not have paid for the tickets, but the activities were lots of fun. The best part of the night was when we arrived and Brandon saw Thomas for the first time - HE WAS SO EXCITED!!!!! All in all it was a great night made even better because Jared was able to be there!
