Grandma Bowman's 90th Birthday

Just one month after celebrating Grandpa Johnson's 70th birthday we were headed to Idaho to celebrate Grandma Bowman's 90th birthday.  I love celebrating these milestone birthdays.
If I could only choose one word to describe Grandma Bowman it would be nurturer.  She loves children and wants to hold them and admire them all the time.  It was really neat to see the many people who came to her birthday party, friends and family who all had one thing in common.  They had been loved and nurtured by Grandma.  She had treated them as one of her own children.  I thought that was pretty special and a great legacy and example that she has shown.
I am very glad we were able to make it to her birthday!

I adore this picture of her holding Trent's hand.  It is to me better than looking into tow mirrors facing each other and seeing your own reflection repeated over and over.  These two pictures represent all of the love and sacrifice from family members past, and all the hope and dreams of future family members, as well as the need we have for each other.

As luck would have it, the same weekend Grandma had her birthday, Jackson was born to our nephew and his wife, Ryan and Violet.  Jackson is their fourth baby, second son, and Trent's future buddy.  They are only two months apart, but this picture makes Trent look like a giant.  I guess when you are born at 9 lbs. 4 oz. and you are compared two months later to a newborn 6 lb.+ baby, you would look huge, but it is still very funny.
It was a fun quick weekend spent with family that we love!
