One Week Anniversary

Yes this is the one week anniversary of Brandon officially sleeping through the night. HIP HIP HOORAY!!!! After trying everything we could think of we finally resorted to the cry it out plan. It was hard, but the ear plugs that Jared bought helped us out a bit. We had to let Brandon cry for 2 1/2 hours the first night, 2 hours the second 1 hour the next and then he seemed to figure it out. We had a few relapses, but we have finally gone one whole week of sleeping through the night, and I am so thrilled! After the first night when Brandon cried for 2 1/2 hours, I went in the following morning to check on him and this is how he was sleeping.
I am sure he cried the whole time standing at the end of the crib expecting me to come rescue him and then when I didn't he just crashed right there, Poor Thing. Thank goodness he was still happy to see me the next morning.

I am a firm believer of the cry-it-out method. After a few days of misery, peace! Totally worth it. As for the blog list on my page, you go to "Add a Page Element" on the Layout Tab and select "Blog List." I guess it's a new thing. I had to go to everyone's blog and re-copy everyone's web address but I like it. I can see who has updated recently. I'm so addicted to blogging lately I feel like I don't get anything else done!

Horray for sleeping. Good job on being brave and consistent. I too learned this the hard way with my 1st and I felt so guilty. When it worked, I realized letting them cry it out isn't mean, letting them be exhausted and not get the sleep they need and deserve is mean. I have had sleeping success with the other 3 this same way. Stick worth it, it is so nice to have a happy, well-rested baby and parents!

CONGRATULATIONS! That is the best feeling huh? I loved the first time that Stella slept through the night. People never realize what a glorious achievement that is until they have to experience long late night feedings and then suddenly your baby sleeping more than 6 hours at night merits a freakin parade. Stella never had to cry herself to sleep at night (sorry, she just didn't) but I can't imagine how crappy that must have been. I would have totally invested in ear plugs. These past 2 months of solid 8-10 hours of sleep at night have been amazing and I am glad that you can finally join the club! Woo Hoo!

That is the hardest time ever, but I am also a believer of that method and it has made all three of my kids amazing self soothers and awesome sleepers. And, kids who are good sleepers are happier, as are their parents!
