Grandma Johnson's Birthday Party

It was so much fun to have a birthday party for my Grandma, she turned 77 years old :).  My grandma's favorite flower is a sunflower, so I made sunflower cupcakes for her and football cup cakes for my cousin (13 year old) who loves football.

While we were enjoying a wonderful dinner in my grandparents back yard we saw a Harris Hawk flying around, well that of course peeked our interest and then we realized that is was my grandparents next door neighbor who was taking care of the hawk.  We watched the hawk for a while and then the hawk decided to land on a branch right above Jared's head, well the branch as you can see in the picture was not a strong branch and it just kept sinking down, with Jared crouching down below it.  Funny thing to witness. :)
The hawk was beautiful and so fun to watch.
After dinner we went to the park just down the street, it was recently remodeled.  This park has such great memories for me so I was anxious to see what they did to change it, it is a fun park with some great changes, but I must admit I miss the original park and the toys.  It was however a lot of fun to see several 2nd cousins and other family members.  Towards the end of the evening we decided to snap a quick family picture, unfortunately several family members had left by then so it is incomplete, but fun just the same.
It was a very fun evening.  I love my grandparents very much and I feel so fortunate to have them so involved in my life and the lives of my children.  Happy Birthday Grandma :)  Love you!!
